The Pre-Communion group will run each Sunday from November to April excluding school holidays (16 sessions in total).  We meet in church after the 9am mass from 09:45 – 10:30 am.

The group is run for all children from Year 1 onwards and taking part is a requirement for all children who will be making their First Holy Communion in
2015.  The Pre- Communion group is the first year of the two year programme of preparation First Holy Communion. As such the children are expected to at attend a minimum of 10 out of the 16 of the sessions provided before they can be recommended to move to the First Holy Communion group. This group is part of the sacramental programme that all our children will follow in the development of their faith.

The aim of the group is for the children to

become familiar with the church surroundings

learn key prayers

know about important people in the bible

become aware of the structure of the mass and the important articles used  during the mass
The group is run by Kevin Wilson. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.  See contact details at the end of the page.

The dates when the pre-communion groups will meet for 2013-2014 are:

Please complete and sign the attached consent form and return to Kevin the first session.

We ask that you support the group by following the guidelines set out below:

Parents  or guardians of the children are welcome to stay and watch the session

That you consider joining a “helping rota”

It is fully understood that on occasion people other than the child’s parent or guardian may be collecting them after the session if this is case please ensure that one of the leaders knows who is collecting the child

We wish to ensure that all the children will enjoy their time at the pre-communion group and ask that you support us in  the following:

Your child must not leave church without the permission from one of the adult leaders

Suitable clothes and footwear must be worn at all times

No running or shouting in the church unless part of an activity

Your child must not cause damage to equipment, premises or cause a nuisance

The kitchen is out of bounds

If your child  needs to use the toilet facilities that they ask the leaders to do so and not just leave the group
Should anyone have cause to complain about any aspects of the groups, the leaders, or any child attending, the complaint will be treated in strictest confidence.

Please write your concerns down and hand a copy to Canon Denis or Deacon Philip who will investigate your concerns and send a written reply
